Since opening in April 2012, Stars has been the hub of Columbus youth indoor soccer, connecting players of all ages and skill levels with the game they love. Our free agent program is exactly what it sounds like: sign up, and Stars puts your child on a Stars house team with other individual players. Seven games per session, real turf, real competition, and two free Stars T-shirts are included.

How Individual Registration Works
Signing your child up as a free agent at Stars is simple. Here's exactly what to expect from start to finish:
Register Online
Head to the registration portal for your child's age group and division. Select "I am registering an individual," complete your child's information, sign the online participant waiver, and submit. Full individual registration fee is due at the time of registration.
Stars Assigns Your Player
After the registration deadline closes, our staff reviews all individual sign-ups and places each player on a team. Your child will be assigned to a Stars house team made up of other individual registrations — or added to an open spot on an existing team's roster.

Once your child's placement is confirmed, Stars will reach out with all the details: team name, schedule, and next steps. Add Sports@StarsIndoorSports.com to your contacts so the assignment email doesn't get caught in spam.
Show Up and Play
Games run on Saturdays and Sundays across the session — check the season calendar for weekends off. Your child shows up, plays their seven games, and represents their Stars house team. No practices required — this is a games-only league.

Where Individual Players Are Placed
B Division — Recreational
Individual registrations are placed in the B Division by default. This is Stars' recreational tier — designed for developing players, beginners, and free agents competing in a fun, structured environment at the right pace.
A Division — Competitive
The A Division is for established teams with competitive experience. Individual registrations are not placed in the A Division. Teams wishing to compete at the A level should register as a full team on our Youth Soccer Leagues page.
Stars Indoor Sports reserves the right to combine divisions or reassign players for sporting purposes based on sign-up numbers.
Can My Child Join a Soccer Team as an Individual?
Yes — and Stars Indoor Sports makes it easy. Individual registrations are accepted for every youth soccer age group, from U7 through U18/19. If your child wants to play but doesn't have a team, they register as a free agent, and Stars places them after the deadline.
Individual players are assigned to the B Division — Stars' recreational tier — designed specifically for developing players, beginners, and free agents competing at an approachable level. Every house team player receives two free Stars T-shirts and the full league experience: seven organized, refereed games per session, played on real indoor turf at 6124 Busch Blvd.
If Stars can't place your child on a team for a given session, your registration fee is fully refunded — no risk, no hassle.
Stars Doesn't Do Tryouts — And That's the Point

Winter Session at a Glance
Games are played on the weekend days marked in red, from Saturday, January 9 through Sunday, March 14, 2027. Your child's house team plays seven games, so it won't play on every red day. Plan around the days off and hold the makeup weekend just in case.

Individual Registration — What You Need to Know
Who Can Register
Individual registrations are open for Boys and Girls divisions: U7 through U18/19. Any player without a team is welcome to register as a free agent.
Individual Registration Fee
$100 per player for each 7-game session. The full fee is due at the time of registration. If Stars cannot place your child on a team, a full refund will be issued.
What Your Child Gets
Two free Stars T-shirts. Seven games of organized, refereed indoor soccer per session. Assignment to an age-appropriate B Division team. Full Stars league experience on real indoor turf.
Before the First Game
All players must complete an online participant waiver and release form prior to their first game. This is completed during the registration process.
Registration Deadlines
The Winter 2027 registration deadline is December 14, 2026. Deadlines close at midnight — or sooner if a division fills up. Register early to secure your child's spot.
